Privacy Policy
Last updated: 7 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Day Technology (“Day Technology”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information in connection with our websites (including day.technology) and our Shopify apps (together, the “Services”). It applies to merchants who install or use our apps, visitors to our websites, and anyone who contacts us.
1. Who we are
Day Technology builds Shopify apps such as Day Reviews, Day Ads Audiences, Day Ads Labels, and Day Unit Measures. For privacy questions, contact us at hello@day.technology.
2. Information we collect
Depending on which Services you use, we may collect:
- Account and shop information — Shopify shop domain, shop name, contact email associated with the shop, installation and billing status, and app settings you configure.
- Shopify store data — data accessed through Shopify APIs based on the scopes you approve (for example product, variant, customer segment, or review-related data needed to operate the relevant app).
- Google account and advertising data — if you connect Google, OAuth tokens and data from Google APIs you authorise (such as Google Ads or Merchant Center / Content API data needed for audience syncing, product labelling, or campaign-related features).
- Usage and technical data — app usage events, error logs, IP address, browser type, and similar diagnostics needed to operate and secure the Services.
- Communications — messages you send us by email or other support channels.
We do not intentionally collect special-category personal data. Please do not submit sensitive personal information to us unless we expressly request it for a support purpose.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services
- Authenticate your Shopify and Google connections and keep them working
- Perform the features you request (for example syncing audiences, classifying products, or managing unit measures)
- Respond to support requests and communicate about the Services
- Monitor reliability, prevent abuse, and protect the security of the Services
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
We process information where necessary to perform our contract with you, where we have a legitimate interest in operating and improving the Services, where you have given consent (for example Google OAuth), or where required by law.
4. Google user data
Some apps request access to Google APIs (for example Google Ads and Merchant Center). When you connect a Google account:
- We access only the Google data needed to provide the features you enable in the app (such as Customer Match audience syncing, Shopping performance data, or Merchant Center label updates).
- We use Google user data solely to provide and improve those user-facing features. We do not sell Google user data, and we do not use it for advertising purposes unrelated to your use of the Services.
- We do not use Google user data to develop, improve, or train generalised AI or machine-learning models.
- You can revoke access at any time through your Google Account permissions and by disconnecting Google in the app.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. How we share information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who help us host, operate, or support the Services (for example cloud infrastructure providers), under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations
- Shopify and Google, as needed to provide the integrations you enable
- Professional advisers or authorities, where required by law or to protect our rights
- A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards
We do not sell personal information.
6. Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. If you uninstall an app or ask us to delete your data, we will delete or anonymise personal information associated with your shop within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it for legal, security, or accounting reasons.
7. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures designed to protect information, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, and restricted access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. International transfers
We may process and store information in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, the United States, or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, to object to certain processing, and to data portability. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise these rights, email hello@day.technology.
Merchants are typically the controller of their customer and storefront data. Where we process that data on your behalf through Shopify APIs to provide an app feature, we do so as a processor / service provider as applicable.
10. Children
The Services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
11. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
